Mick Kolassa, also known as Michissippi Mick. I am a lifelong musician and hardcore blues fan who also happens to be a former member of the Board of Directors of the Blues Foundation. My love of the blues began 50 years ago and with this and my previous albums I am able to share that love with you. You can see that I love all styles of blues, and I also love to find the blues song hidden in tunes that most people wouldn’t think of as blues. I like to call what I do “Free Range Blues”. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together.
The Taylor Made Blues Band brings together four talented and respected blues artists whose talent and love for the blues is infectious. The band was formed when singer “Michissippi” Mick Kolassa decided to start touring on a regular basis. Joined by David Dunavent on lead guitar and backing vocals, Seth Hill on bass and George Mumford (and sometimes Lucy Kate Piper) on drums, the quartet delivers rock solid blues in a show that keeps audiences coming back.
Playing a combination of Mick’s original songs, cherished blues classics and some surprising blues “uncovers” of songs not traditionally thought of as blues, the Taylor Made Blues Band keeps audiences enthralled by fitting the set to the fans to assure their enjoyment of the show. They are lively and animated in their performances, demanding the attention of the audience and assuring that the fans enjoy themselves.
